They: carried| nosegays of white carnations) and pink roses with some of the| lace jacket 'UNITS, GROUPS, AUXILIARIES LADIES' CIVITAN CLUB The Oshawa Ladies' Civitan Club held their last meeting until the fall, at the Glenholme School for Retarded Children on Simcoe street south. A de- licious hot dinner was served to 16 members and eight guests, by the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Glenholme School. Guests for the evening were seven past members of the Civitan Club -- Mrs. John Keitz, Mrs. Arthur Griffith, Mrs. Steven Marion, Mrs. James Logan, Mrs. Ronald Crimmings, Mrs. Cecil Horton, Miss Carol McGurr, and Mrs, church hall the bride's mother received, wearing a light blue brocade sheath, white acces- sories and a corsage of pink and white carnations. The bridegroom's mother assisted, wearing a blue and white print- ed silk, white accessories and a smiliar corsage. As the couple left for their honeymoon in Sudbury the bride was wearing a pink linen sheath with a _ three-quarter icoat, white hat and accessor- ies. Mr. and Mrs. Nichols will make their home in Chelmsford, near Sudbury. The guard of honor was com- |prised of Captain Robert Czir- janka, 2nd Lieutenants Robert | Anderson, Roy Fells, J. J. Glas- John Merrithew. A short business metting was held. Mrs. Alan Harper read the minutes of the last ex- ecutive and regular meeting. Mrs. Royce Whittaker read the treasury report. A gift was presented to Mrs. William Witham who is leaving Oshawa, by Mrs. Frank Sim- mons. Mrs. Witham was one of the original members of the club and the first president. Mrs. Gary Bayliss presented a gift to Mrs. John Merrithew for her services to the club.. Mrs. James Logan. on behalf of the invited guests thanked the club for the invitation to the dinner. As of other years, on the last meeting night, the money, the Club made over the past year, was given to the different organizations. Mrs, Alan Studholme accep- ted a cheque on behalf of the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foun- dation, and Mrs, George Burch and Patricia Ajayi accepted a cheque for the African Students {Organization of Toronto, Miss Susan Powell, from the Oshawa Boys Club, accepted a sewing machine for the girls of the sewing classes there, After all business was atten- ded to, the members and guests were entertained by Mr. Ross Gibson of Whitby.
