The son of the late James and Matilda McLaughlin, he was born in Burketon in 1900. He married the former Mabel '|Mountjoy there in 1923. For most of his life he worked as a farmer in the Burketon area. He was a member of the Jerusalem Masonic Lodge and the Orange Lodge. He was predeceased by his son Carl, in 1958. : Mr. McLaughlin is survived by his wife, Mabel; two daugh- ters, Mrs. Fred Griffin (Ruby) of Burketon and Mrs. J. Wal- ker (Audrey) of California; one son, James, of Burketon; and one brother Herbert of Oshawa. He was in his 76th year Born in the Ukraine Dec. 18, 1888, the deceased received his education in his native land and came to Canada when 17 years of age. He had residéd in this area all that time.
