Replying to Stanley Knowles (NDP--Winnipeg North Centre) the minister' said the commis- sion's investigators have de- cided that the work stoppage at the newspapers ended, for in- surance purposes, on Sept. 7. NDP Leader Douglas asked whether benefits would be retro- active. Mr. MacEachen' said he was not sure on this point and would check on it. The printers walked off their jobs July 9. The three news- papers-- Star, Telegram and Globe and Mail--have continued | to publish.
