A son of the late Charles and Elizabeth Barton, the deceased was born in Whitby and re- ceived his education in the Whit- by Separate School. Leaving Whitby as a young man, he had lived in Belleville and Toronto for 48 years. A buf- fer in the metal finishing trade, he retired five years ago. Mr. Barton was a member of St. Bridgit's Roman _ Catholic Church, Toronto.
