KENNETH ZUFELT Punshon Avenue Pair Feted On 25th Wedding Anniversary A reception to honor Mr, and Mrs. Kenneth Howard Zufelt, Punshon avenue, on the occa- sion of their 25th wedding anni- versary, was held recently in the Fernhill Park Clubhouse. Mrs. Zufelt, the former Ethel Mae Smith, is the daughter of Mrs. Geongé Smith, Oshawa and the late Mr. Smith, and came to Oshawa from Waterloo, England in 1927, Mr. Zufelt is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Asahel Zufelt of Warkworth and came to Oshawa in 1935. The Reverend Wylie officiated at their marriage which took place im Columbus 'United Church. Mr. and Mrs. Zufelt have one son, William. Mr. Zufelt is employed at General Motors and is an ac- tive member of the Oddfellows Lodge. Mrs. Zufelt is a member of the Rebekahs and is em- ployed at Eaton's. et) Three close friends, Mrs. Clar- ence Jones, Mrs. Elmer Ward, and Mrs. Orval Dingman ar- ranged the reception and enter- tainment, the highlight of which was a mock wedding. The Reverend Kenneth A. Heron, BA, BD, brother of the bride assisted the Reverend H. M. Buntain in the ceremony. Soloist Keith Knights, Waterloo, sang "The Wedding Prayer" and 'The Holy City", accom- William Boyes, Pickering. The bride, given in manriage by her father, wore a_floor- length gown of white silk bro- cade, with scoop neckline, lily- point sleeves, controlled bell skirt shaped to a chapel train; accented by a satin cummer- bund and streamer bow. A matching satin wedding ring headdress held her embroider- ed, tulle illusion veil. She car- ried a white Bible from which trailed white streamers caught with yellow sweetheart roses. The maid of honor was Miss Mary Rose Heron. St. Mark's WA And Tea Draws Many Spectators The Afternoon Branch of the Women's Auxiliary of St, Mark's Anglican Church held a very successful tea and showing of fall hats by Miss Viola McDoug- all, milliner. Mrs. Walter Meens, president of the WA welcomed the guests and introduced Mrs. Gordon Rae, general convener of the afternoon and Mrs. P, S. Law- rence who was commentator at both showings. Mrs, Rae pres- ented Mrs. H. A. Coles, soloist at the intermissions and Mrs. J. H, Lee who accompanied her at the piano and provided music for the models. Mrs. U. F. Ellwood arranged the tables in pastels and au- tumn flowers along an aisle for the models. A display of ferns and yellow chrysanthemums, provided the setting for the stage. Afternoon tea was served by Mrs. H, M, Beamish and her committee. During the inter- mission, Mrs. H. A. Coles sang three solos. The bride- groom's parents, residing in Scotland, were unable to at- tend the wedding, but many gifts, letters and telegrams of good wishes were received from relatives there. For their honeymoon trip the bride wore a mauve wool sheath dress and matching hat, trimm- ed with purple velvet and a yellow orchid corsage.
