a em mt er pe MEMBERS AND GUESTS foregathered at a reception Scottish Rite Clyb Ladies' Night Social Gathering of Noted Masons The Scottish Rite Ladies' Night, held on Wednesday night, in the Hotel Genosha, was a gala affair, considered by many to be a "top'"' social function of the -season. It was attended by a capacity gathering of masons of the high- er degrees, with high ranking) officers and their ladies from Toronto, Peterborough, Port Hope, Pickering, Whitby, Brook- lin and from Oshawa and dis- trict. The guest speaker was Mr,| Howard Moore of Toronto wh until recently, was P. Lieut.) Grand Commander of the) Supreme Council of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite for the Dominion of Canada. Mr. Moore, in his brief remarks, complimented. the local organ- ization on its success and re- viewed briefly the recent con- vocation of Supreme Council held in Ottawa. He was intro- duced by Mr. W. Gordon Bunker, Oshawa, who referred 'to the ' speaker's part in the formation of 'the local organiza- tion in the early twenties. Stanley St. John of Toronto was in charge of the entertain- ment and presented Carol Anne Curry, soprano, and Wally Wil- liamson, tenor, two television stars, who delighted the audi- ence with solos and duets. The 1964 event was brought to a close with Auld Lang Syne. Foresters Hold Hallowe'en Dance The combined efforts of Court 1443, Whitby, and Court 1871, Oshawa, of the Canadian Order of Foresters made for a success- fal annual Hallowe'en dance at the Oshawa Airport Recreation Hall on Saturday. The hall was appropriately the best comic costumes and Connie Crossman and Terry Vale as the best original cos- tumes. Spot dance winners were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Foley, and the special attendance prize was won by Mr. Robert Hogle of Columbus. The door prize was won. by Mrs. W. Mathews.
