Adjoining mountains are Elsewhere in Ontario, there ception is likely to be strength- ened in the years ahead. The best known feature bear- ing the name Churchill is the Port of Churchill in Manitoba. This port, established as a post and fort in 1685, was named after John Churchill, the first Duke of Marlborough, who at the time was a governor of the Hudson's Bay Company.
