She had been a resident of Oshawa for 15 years Mrs. Fountaine was prede- ceased by her husband, William Joseph Fountaine, in 1948. Surviving are four daughters and five sons: NEW YORK (AP) -- Eltinge F. Warner, 85, retired publisher of Field and Stream magazine, died at his Manbattan home Sunday after a long illness. Warner, who had stalked game in many parts of the world, was an active conserva- tionist. He was a director of the American Wildlife Institute. Born in St. Paul, Minn., War- ner bought Field and Stream in 1906 from one of its co-found- ers, John P. Burkhard. He sold the magazine in 1950 to_a com- bine headed by Texas oilman Mrs. Fred Cowgil (Marie), Mrs. Gerald Rob'nson (Rita), Miss Velma Fountaine and Miss Sharon Fountaine -- all of Wind- sor, Ontario; Joseoh and Fran- cis, of Caesarea; and Edward, William and Stanley, of London, Ontario. Also surviving are two sis- ters and a brother: Mrs. Ben Jackson (Marie), of Oshawa, and Mrs. H. Fountaine (Irene) of Uptergrove; and Thomas Clint Murchison.
