Several items of business were discussed including the "Blos- som Tea' of April 2. The guest speaker was Mrs. J. D. Ward who spoke on South Africa. ' At the close of the meeting a social half hour was enjoyed with refreshments served by Mrs. Roland Daniel and Mrs. Ross Harris. Are Baptized WHITBY -- The sacrament of baptism was observed Sunday morning at St. Mark's United Church. Five children were pre- sented by their parents. They were: David Lawrence, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Quan- trill; Brian Arnold, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Dayes; Carol Ann Stacy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Ball; Carolin Renee,| daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Beck and Bonnie Sarah, daugh- ter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Fice. Elder V. Rowe assisted the minister. Music fer the service was pro-| vided by the junior choir under the leadership of Mrs. D. Wil- liams and accompanied by, Mrs. J. L. Beaton. The ladies' auxiliary will be attending a social evening at Oshawa April 20 at the invita- tion of the Ladies' Auxiliary, Branch No. 43, Oshawa. It was reported that donations were given to the Canadian In- stitute for the Blind and to the} Royal Canadian Legion Provin-| cial Bursary. Further gifts were offered by| members for the zone rally to| be held in Whitby May 11. An invitation will be sent to pro- vincial president of the Brock- ville Royal Canadian Legion Ladies' Auxiliary, Mrs. Jessie Tompkins, to attend the rally.
