Campbell SPORTS EDITOR verything From Soup To Nuts' THE FLYERS were flying last night! And what's more-- they started to fly real early, like just 25 seconds after the opening faceoff, when their Bill Goldsworthy potted the opener of five first-period goals by the homesters. Bill Bannerman made it an Oshawa second stanza, scoring twice for the Gen- erals, but that's all they were able to get and in the final frame, Niagara Falls added three more tallies, for their one- sided triumph. Bill Bannerman's two goals last night were his sixth and seventh of this playoff series. He's top scorer in the series, Don Marcotte of the Flyers being next in line with five goals. Jim Lorentz and Ron Buchanan each have scored four times. That's the story of Oshawa's scoring prow- ess so far in this series, Bill Bannerman has scored seven goals, Ron Buchanan four and Wayne Cashman just one -- and that's it, a total of one even dozen, with two players ac- counting for 11 of them. It's not good enough ! _ IT WAS A CINCH that "Hap" Emms would have his boys giving special defensive attention to Oshawa's top scoring stars, especially Buchanan, who was one of the leaders for the entire league, and Bobby Orr, who can explode for a goal or two, almost any night. It is significant that the Oshawa de- fense star hasn't been able to pot one yet, in this series. Flyers Wallop Generals Lead Semi-Final Series 10. Niagara Falls, Bradley (Debrody) By GERRY SUTTON NIAGARA FALLS -- A ray of hope emerged last night despite! the 8-2 shellacking Oshawa Gen- erals suffered at the hands of Niagara Falls Flyers. Danny O'Shea, who performed in a lackadaisical manner in the four previous games, was one of the few bright spots for Generals as they fell behind 3-2 in the best-of-seven OHA Junior "A" semi-final series. The sixth game is scheduled for the Civic Auditiroium of Saturday, at 8 p.m. If neces- sary, the seventh and deciding contest will be played back here Friday, April 2. The Flyers exploded for five unanswered goals in the first period as they completely dom- inated play with a fierce skat- ing and checking attack. It was the best period of hockey for the Flyers in the series and the Generals wilted under the pres- sure leaving goalie Dennis Gib- son on his own several times. In the second period, Gen- [Bob Marshall of Generals and) Flyers' Rosaire Paiement tangl- led and each received five- minute majors. Less than two minutes later, Martin Buchar grabbed Bud ing a faceoff in the Oshawa ispark for the. main event. At 17.43, rugged Marotte took a running charge at Chris Rob- erts of Oshawa. Firefighters easily defeated Bolahood's 40-to-24, in a real team effort. Dave Mason scored 11 points, Ralph.
