Dep- uty Reeve George Brooks, of Whitby, was chairman. The association president, Larry Deschenes, was returned| to office by acclamation. The vice-president for the ensuing ar will be Mrs. George rooks. Leo Steffler was return- ed as secretary. Harry Ashton,| who ran against two other nom- inees, was elected treasurer. Louis Rousseau was elected|be as membership chairman. Adrian Govudi was named as sree council delegate and rank Rossettani as organizer. During the meeting Eamon Park, federal treasurer of the New Democratic Party, spoke. WOMEN ORGANI The report of the executive noted that a women's group was Case Finding Seal Function WHITBY -- Children with physical disabilities are being discovered by the Ontario So- ciety for Crippled Children al- most every day of the year. Case finding is a vitally impor- tant Easter Seal function and is carried on in the remote areas as well as in heavily populated towns and cities through period- ie surveys. Crippled children's surveys are conducted on a "County" basis by a special survey com- mittee composed of representa- tives from the local medical so- clety, Easter Seal service clubs and the district nurses of the Ontario Society for Crippled Children. Survey notices are sent to all physicians, clergymen, teach- ers, Official health agencies and community groups to publicize the services available to all physically infirm children under nineteen years of age. The families of childsen re- ported are visited by the district nurses with prior approval from the family doctor. Under the doctor's direction, arrange- ments can be made for a com- plete rehabilitation program em- bracing medicine, therapies, so- cial service, psychology, educa- tion and recreation. In addition, there will be the provision of prosthetic appliances and spe- clal equipment as the need arises. If you know of a physically handicapped child not receiving care and treatment, notify the -- Seal club serving your Elected organized during the past year and has been active in the work of the organization, On the re- creational side the group plans card parties and on May 29 will hold a bazaar. The social committee, chaired by Pat Bell, has held two dances and plans another in May. It has been proposed that such events be held monthly. Involving three counts of a 24-count indictment of Feb. 28, 1963, the guilty plea subjects Olin Mathieson to possible fines totalling $30,000. At the time of the indictment, the government estimated that more than $150,000 in secret "kickbacks" had been paid in connection with the drug sales.
