Both women had accompanied Christ and the disciples in their} travels to minister to their va- rious needs. On the day of our Lord's crucifixion they were the last to leave the scene of death, and the first to arrive at the tomb on Sunday morning. The account of an earthquake at this time is found only in Matthew and is contrary to the facts of the case. There were no witnesses to the Resurrection! itself. Jesus left the tomb si-| lently, invisibly, miraculously, a fact that is as terrifying to His enemies as it is comforting to His friends. | At the time of the burial Fri-, day evening, a great stone had) sealed the entrance to the sep-/ ulchre, and, at the request of ROSSLAND FREE METHODIST CHURCH 1042 Rossland Rd. When they saw Him, most of the dis- ciples fell upon their knees and worshipped Him; a few held back, hoping, half-believing it was the Lord, but unwilling to commit themselves until they saw Him near at hand, and knew that it was indeed the Master. Jesus spoke to them, confirm- ing His supreme authority both in heaven and on earth. With such authority over all the spirits of heaven and all that is on earth, nations and individu- als, both present and future, Christ commands His disciples to make disciples of the peoples of the earth, to baptize the be- lievers in the name of the the Holy Spirit, and teach those saved things He has taught them. This great commission ends with a promise that He will be with them -- and all Christians--always, even to the end of. the world, the Kingdom of God which will follow the evangelization of the earth.
