THE OSHAWA TIM®S, Tuesday, November 23, 1965 gy Lasco Steelers Top Visiting West Clair By CLIFF GORDON Whitby Lasco Steelers and West Clair York Steelers last night hooked up in by far the best game of the season at Whitby Arena, with Lascos handing York Steelers their sec- ond defeat of the season 4-2. Captain Kevin O'Shea again put on a tremendous perform- ance as he bagged his second hat trick in as many games. Don O"Donaghue, 15, scored the final goal in the empty net. Tt came as the result of some hard digging by the little fel- low, who also got two assists: Carl Varga and Tom Fox- croft, both midget players, scored for the losers, Both goals came on the power play. O'She opened the scoring in the first period. He converted passes from O'Donaghue and Thompson with West Clair play- ing a man short. O'She netted his second early in the middle period. With Tay- lor in the penalty box, Foxcroft blistered a slap shot into the top right corner that beat Moore cleanly, leaving the count at 2-1 for Whitby after two periods. O'Shea completed the hat Hawks Hot Opposition For Generals Oshawa Generals play their first mid-week home game of the season tomorrow night, and the hottest club in the league will provide the opposition. St. Catharines Black Hawks, winners of five of their last six games, can move into a third- place -tie with Peterborough Petes with a victory over the Generals. It would also pull them to within two points of the second-place Oshawans. Speedy defenceman Paul Cadieux may be absent from the Oshawa line-tip. Cadieux, who attended the University of Ottawa, is writing examinations and may find it impossible to travel to Oshawa in midweek. He will inform the club Wed nesday morning. If Cadieux can not be on| hand, Bob Edmunds will be} elevated from the Oshawa Crushmen Junior 'B' club. Edmunds is a graduate of the Oshawa Minor Hockey Associa- tion. Left-winger Ron Dussiaume will remain in the line-up. Dussiaume played his first two games with the Generals on the weekend and picked up four points a goal and two assists here against Hamilton, and the winning goal in Gen- erals' 2-1 victory in Kitchener. Meanwhile, Jim Whittaker is still hospitalized in Niagara Tomorrow DOUG 'SHELTON Falls. The young = defensive) stalwart suffered a broken arm in a game in Niagara Falls on November 5, and it isn't yet known when he will leave hospital. Centreman Billy White will be out approximately | six weeks with a chipped bone just above the heel, and the loss of these two players is being felt by the squad. Fans are reminded that to-| morrow's encounter at Civic Auditorium starts at 8:00 p.m.,)Woodrow (Woody) Sauldsberry.); ---- rather than the 7:15 starting time on Saturdays. The testimony of Giles and others is being taken in a law- yer's office here in the form of depositions which will become part of the court record in the Milwaukee County suit.
