Dr. P. A. Peach of the Uni- versity of Toronto department of geology, who identified the meteorite, says he believes it is part of a shattered planet. "The Manitouwabing meteor- ite, as it is officially known, tips the scales at close to 90 pounds," said Dr, Peach. "'It. is the sixth largest meteorite and the fourth largest metallic me- teorite yet found in Canada." The fall of this meteorite was tracked by Dr. J. F, Heard, of the Dunlap Observatory near Toronto, in 1949 to within one mile of where it was eventually found.
