10 THE OSHAWA TIMES, Scturdey, October 22, 1966 ANN LANDERS It's Usually Called 'Robbing The Cradle'z I'm 20 years old (male) and I have a young admirer. She is several years my junior, a real cute little doll and I love her like a sister, Her family and my family have been friends for as long as I can remember. Every night this adorable child calls me on the telephone just to chat. I enjoy talking to her and I look forward to her calls. I'm sure she likes me in ine same imnucent way *sou sands of little girls like older have T hate ta tell her to stop calling, but my folks think I should before I get into trouble. What do you think?--V. B. .C. Dear V.: You have carefully avoided telling me the age of the "adorable child." Is she 16, or 14, or 13? Regardless of her age, she's a girl and she has a crazy crush on you. And don't give me the litle sister banana oil because no 20-year-old would look for- ward to a nightly 'telephone cal! from his sister. Knock it off, Buddy. Your folks are right. She'll survive-- and better--without you. Dear Ann Landers: What do you think of a normally bright 18-year-old girl going on a va- cation with a lovely head of hair and returning home with a boy-cut, dyed straw yellow? To say Sally looks like a back alley toughie is putting it mildly. My husband retired recently and we had planned on taking Sally and her 19 - year - old brother to Europe for a month's vacation. We have been looking forward to this trip for three years. Now my. husband says Sally will have to stay at home as he refuses to be seen with her. Our son, who has always adored his sister, is also furious and his sentiments are the same as his father's. Please tell me what can be done to get this once attractive girl looking like a human being in three weeks. I'd hate to leave her home. Thank you.-- Wit's End Dear Wit's: 1. Sally's hair can be tinted her natural color which will help a great deal. ® She son waar a hair niece (this is not a full wig) until her own 'hair grows in. And I hope you will make her pay tor tne tint and the hair piece herself. Dear Ann Landers: I think your column is sound and that it serves a very real need, But something about the column bothers me. Surely you must realize that everyone cannot afford psychi-} atric help. Yet hardly a. week, goes by that you don't tell at least a half dozen inquirers to "get therapy," or "see some- one who can help you with your emotional problem." Why don't you tell them to go to Recov- ery? Recovery is a non-sectarian group which was started in 1937 for people with emotional problems. Recovery does not attempt to substitute for a doc- tor. There are nearly 600 chap- ters and they do a great job. Please tell people about us, Ann.--J. P. : Dear J, P.: Recovery is an excellent group and I'd like to suggest that anyone interested in this type of therapy write to Recovery Head quarters, 116 gaa Michigan Ave., Chicago, THE STARS SAY By ESTRELLITA FOR TOMORROW With yesterday's planetary re- strictions lifting, Sunday should be a most pleasant day. Es- pevially favored: social func- tions, family interests, enter- tainment of all types. FOR THE BIRTHDAY If tomorrow is your birthday, your horoscope indicates that, as of the first of this month, you entered a month - long period highly propitious for both job and money matters. Do make the most of these good influ- ences while they last since they will turn somewhat adverse on Nov. 1, and you will have to avoid all extravagance, specula- tion and chance-taking of any kind for a full month. Next good period for advancing your oc- cupational status and adding to your bank balance: early de- cember and the first two weeks in February, late April, early May, the last two weeks in June and the entire months of August and September, of 1967. Despite the star-promised gains in April, this will be another month in which to stress con- servatism, since you may face some unexpected expenses. Personal affairs will be gov- erned by friendly influences for most of the next 12 months, but try to avoid tension in do- mestic circles for the balance of this month and in early Janu- ary. This you can easil ydo if you are more tactful than usual in annoying situations. Best per- iods for romance: the balance of this month, next April and June; for travel and stimulat- ing social activities: again, the balance of this month and, in 1967, January, April and the weeks between June 15 and Sept. 1. A child born on this day will be endowed with a friendly and outgoing personality; could suc- ceed in almost any phase of the entertainment woriu. FOR MONDAY Keep in close touch with de velopments around your place of business on Monday. You may have a chance to strengthen security and add to income by careful planning. Original ideas will be given close attention. For the birthday If Monday is your birthday, your horoscope indicates a fine year ahead. Both the business and personal aspects of your life will be governed by gener- ous influences and, if you take advantage of every opportunity available, you should do excep- tionally well. Best periods for occupational and monetary in- terests: the balance of this month, the first two weeks of December, the first two in Feb- should experience 'highly inspir- ing--and profitable--cycles be- tween now and the end of Jan- uary; also next June. She told a service club meet- ing Wednesday that "we live in a culture where man's adjust- ment to a successful career is relatively easy while a woman's is much more difficult." Sister Alice Michael predicted an increase in the number of women entering executive posi- tions and said women "wish to be treated like people, not like women."
