A quilting bee, held by Mrs. Patrick McAvoy, provided a major prize at the bazaar. Other events were social bingos and card parties. Members o fthe league donated many man hours to the blood donor clinic and the Hillsdale Manor Tuck Shop. Besides catering to various banquets and weddings, the league members catered to the luncheon at the Blessing of John F. Kennedy School and were co hostess to a farewell reception for the Reverend M. A. Beriault at St. Phillips Par- ish Hall, Monies were donated to Van- ier Institute and to Simcoe Hall Settlement House. Scholarships were awarded to two students of Holy Cross School 1966 grad- uation class, to the Oshawa Catholic High School, Trophies and prizes were don- ated to winners of the Public Speaking Contest and to win- ners of the Separate School Field Day.
