The course, held during the fall of 1966 was sponsored by the Durham - Northumberland TB and Health Association. The 10-week course was con- ducted in the cafeteria of the Courtice Secondary School un- der the leadership of Mrs. Doug Poole with the able assistance of Mrs, Allan Tamblyn and Mrs, Arthur Burgess. Guest speaker for the even- ing was Wallace Pitt, principal of the South Courtice Public School. Mr. Pitt reviewed and commented on the course. About 90 people atetended the ceremony and luncheon after- wards. Among the 29 graduates wre 14 girl guides who alsa re- ceived their child care badges from Commissioner Mrs. Ross Hawke with the assistance of Captain Mrs. Arthur Bishop ea" Lieutenant Mrs. Jack Mortc Graduated with awards were: Don Burgess and David Poole tied for first place among the boys, Caron Coverley won special honors as top girl with Jill Vandewalker sceond.
