ON The Oshawa Chapter of the Sweet Adelines, who will pre- sent their next concert at East- dale Collegiate auditorium, Dec. 2 with the Oshawa Barbershop- pers (S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A., Inc.), was organized in Oct. 1956 by Mrs. Barry Fox, Orillia, who now lives in Kitchener. With the help of the Toronto Chapter Sweet Adelines and the Choralaires, a Sweet Adeline quartet from Orillia, Oshawa Chapter was off to a successful start. The meetings at that time were held in the CRA building on Gibb St. The first Sweet Adeline direc- tor in Oshawa was Tony Lid- dall, a member of the Oshawa §.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A. Within a few months, Mr. Liddall was trans- ferred to the United States, and another Oshawa barbershopper, Mr. S. T. (Dewey) Tutton, be- came director of the chorus.
