Town Line – The growth of the lodge of Patrons of Industry here is simply surprising. The membership now exceeds ninety, and bids to reach the hundred at next meeting. At the last meeting, Vice President DeHart gave an extensive account of the contributions made by the executive committee of the county association of which he is a member. The executive of this subordinate association were instructed to close a contract with Mr. V. Gibson, of Whitby for supplying the members with needs of various kinds. This association made a similar contract with Mr. Gibson last year and it is gratifying to know that all were well initiated. A movement is now about in the lodge to organize a second “beef ring”, so satisfactory has been the working of the one already in existence. The literary contest which has been the means of producing such excellent programmes of, closes with next meeting of April 24th.
