Brian Beauchamp, 26, of Whitby, won the gold medal at the Canadian Open judo championship that was held during the recent Canadian National Exhibition.
He won the title in the 71 kg category on Sept. 1.
Beauchamp is the current Ontario champion and works for CFCF TV in Montreal.
His brother, Glenn, 23 recently won the silver medal in the judo competition at the World University Games in Japan.
