Lori Melien had three fourth-place finishes in the individual competition in a World Cup swim meet held in Etobicoke over the weekend.
Melien began with a fourth in the 50 metre butterfly on Friday (Dec. 16) behind Andrea Nugent of Calgary (28.06 seconds), Madeleine Scarborough of Britain and Emameuia Viola of Italy. Melien’s time was 28.67 seconds.
On Saturday (Dec. 17) in the 25 m. freestyle, Melien had a time of 12.52 seconds to finish behind Helena Alerg of Sweden (12.2) Kristin Topham of Winnipeg and Andrea Nugent of Calgary.
Her time was one minute 3.65 in the 100 m. backstroke.
Melien was a member of Canada’s B. team which finished second in the 4 X 50 m. medley relay.
