- A black and white photograph of Frank Threadgold (1890-1955).
- Notes
- Frank Threadgold was born at Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire, England in 1890 and came to Whitby in 1913 with his brother Stuart Threadgold. The Threadgold brothers were building contractors and built many of Whitby's homes from 1913 to 1953. Mr. Threadgold joined the 116th Battalion in the First World War and was in the 182nd Battalion Band. He was also a member of a number of bands in Whitby and choir leader of All Saints' Anglican Church. Mr. Threadgold was a member of the Whitby Town Council in 1928, 1932-1935, 1938-1939, 1941-1942, and was Deputy Reeve in 1940. He was appointed Building Inspector in 1953 and Plumbing Inspector in 1955. Mr. Threadgold was President of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 112 in 1947 and vice-chairman of Ontario Provincial Command of the Legion. He was also recording secretary. Mr. Threadgold was presented with a life membership in the Legion on November 11, 1953. He died at Toronto General Hospital on November 30, 1955 and is buried at Mount Lawn Cemetery, Whitby.
