- Description
- Nikolai Bokan and his son (likely Boris) are seen preparing buckets of water outside of their family home as a precautionary measure against threats from Bokan’s son Vladimir that he would set the house on fire. Vladimir was aggrieved that his father had forced him to leave the family home to become self-sufficient. Nikolai was struggling to feed his large family during the famine. Vladimir was twenty-five years old at the time of his departure.
