General reflections about the famine rather than specific memories.
More than half of the population in her village died of famine, and many suffered from swelling. Schoolchildren were given lunch, once a day, consisting of some cooked soy, but they were still dying of hunger daily. None of the machines that Stalin was allegedly buying abroad in exchange for grain were seen in the village. After the war, people had to cut down the [fruit] trees to avoid being taxed by the state.
Postovyk supports the memorialization of victims. Writes that the famine was artificial and blames Stalin for it.
