Letter sent from: Mytaivka, Bohuslav Raion, Kyiv oblast
Letter describes events in (1932-1933): Soldatske, Velyka Pysarivka Raion, Kharkiv oblast and Kharkiv
Current location name: Village of Soldatske, Okhtyrka raion, Sumy oblast
Yakiv Panov describes in detail stages and the process of requisitioning. People resisted - there was an uprising; a woman who rang a church bell was "taken away for good"; 3 school students, grades 4-6, were "taken away for good" by the NKVD for writing a letter to Molotov asking why the hunger was organized. Panov's father and older brother were unable to work because of exhaustion. Brother ran away and father could not complete the work and did not receive his food ration. Panov and his friend went to Kharkiv looking for bread but were captured and returned to the village by the police. Then he went to the state farm (radhosp) Parkhomivka 35 km away from home and worked there with other children of his age (9 -10 year old at the time). A couple who took from the villagers all seeds leaving them for dead were executed (hung) by the Nazis.- Notes
