Letter sent from: Village of Nemovychi, Sarny Raion, Rivne Oblast
Letter describes events in (1932-1933): Location is unclear from existing printout - mentions Berezan Raion (there is one in each, Mykolaiv and Kyiv oblast)
Current location name: Berezan raion (Mykolaiv or Kyiv oblast)
Mariia Bilanko describes events in a locale in Berezan raion (it is unclear in which oblast - Kyiv or Mykolaiv). She was 12 at the time and had 4 (?) siblings. She describes in not so many details grain requisitioning by the search brigades and deportations. People were not rich and most were lacking food or seeds for planting in the fall of 1932. Father was stripped of his candidacy for membership in the Communist party for refusing to take away all of the grain and food from the collective farm members, leaving some for children. Her parental grandfather and mother died in the spring of 1933, and her brother died in July 1933. She was swollen. Her father and two big sisters cooked mock foods, another big sister worked as a cook in an orphanage (internat) and brought home potato skins that they cooked.- Notes
