Describes events in 1932-1933 in: The Village of Sokolova, Khmelnyk raion, Vinnytsia oblast
Current location name: The Village of Sokolova, Khmelnyk raion, Vinnytsia oblast

Ishchuk writes few words about the famine—only that he had to survive it at early age. His father was arrested in 1937 and sentenced by an NKVD troika.

He mentions Torgsins, where people could buy food, but only if they had valuables.

He discusses the role of Stalin, who murdered thousands of people, and argues that those who write letters in support of him were themselves the perpetrators of the Stalinist repressions.

Ilchuk later mentions that the post-war loans called pozyky were not voluntary, as members of the village council were forcing people to sign for them.
