Description
In his memoir, Hart auf hart, Wienerberger states that because the apartment he was promised was just being built, he and his family were assigned a large room in a farmhouse across the street from the factory being retrofitted under his management. The house, however, lacked both indoor or outdoor bathroom facilities. As a foreign specialist with considerable experience within the Soviet system, he was able to get more suitable living quarters. This photo most likely portrays the upgraded “cottage” where he and his family resided until the apartment building was completed, which can be seen here: http://vitacollections.ca/HREC-holodomorphotodirectory/3636261/data
