The following is the winning entry by Brianna Forbes of Georgetown: Dear Constable Laurel Barnett, My name is Brianna Forbes and I am 10 years old. I really look forward to my summer holidays each year because one of my favourite activities is bike riding. When you ride your bike you should always follow the bike safety rules. I learned about bike safety in school this year. Here are some of the rules you should remember to follow when you ride your bike. 1. Keep both hands on the handle bars 2. Never ride double 3. Always ride on the same way as the cars 4. Use your hand signals to let people know where you're going 5. Pay attention to traffic signs 6. Walk your bike across the street 7. Don't wear long clothing; it could get caught in the chain 8. Don't ride with sandals or bare feet-- you could hurt your feet badly 9. Always ride single file 10. Make sure your bike has reflectors 11. Keep your eyes on the road Even if your friends don't think it's cool, remember to use your own head and always wear a bike helmet that fits.
