Vandals mar Ecole Sacre-Coeur Halton Police are investigating two incidents of vandalism at Ecole Sacre Coeur School that occurred earlier this week. Police are looking for whoever is responsible for writing derogatory remarks and drawing obscene pictures on the exterior walls of the Miller Dr. school late Tuesday or early Wednesday, and racist graffiti on the portables at the school the following night. Staff at the school deemed the drawings and remarks so obscene they painted over them immediately so that young students couldn't see them. Police say at this point there is nothing to suggest the vandalism at Sacre Coeur is connected to the recent incident at Christ the King Secondary School on Guelph St. in which 39 windows were broken resulting in $20,000 damage. Officer hit by car A Halton Police officer was hit by a car while conducting a routine traffic stop in the parking lot at Halton Hills Shopping Plaza, in front of Maria's Restaurant and Dollarama, on Guelph St. Wednesday afternoon. The officer was taken to Georgetown Hospital where it was determined he was not injured. Police report the male officer was on foot at approximately 12:30 p.m. when he was struck by the left corner of a vehicle. The officer rolled over the hood of the car and landed on the pavement. The vehicle continued on, striking the front left corner of the parked police car, then left and was seen heading westbound on Guelph St. The driver of the vehicle is described as an elderly, white female. The vehicle was a small silver compact car. Police are still investigating and ask anyone with information about the accident to call Halton Police at 905-878-5511 ext. 2415. POLICE BLOTTER Trailer Park break-ins Halton Police are investigating break-ins into nine trailers at The Breeze's Trailer Park on Dublin Line in Acton sometime late Monday or early Tuesday. At press time, police could not provide details on all the entries and what was taken, but reported that a window was broken in one of the trailers to gain entry and a DVD player and TV were stolen. The trailers were all vacant. Tools stolen Police report approximately $2,500 worth of tools were taken from an abattoir on Steeles Ave. during a break and enter between Saturday and Monday. There was no sign of forced entry.
