Three Blue Fins swimmers qualify for junior nationals Four club members record personal best times at London meet Four members of the Halton Hills Blue Fins' swim club turned in several personal-best times at the recent provincial championships in London and three of those athletes have qualified for the national junior competition, to be held this summer in Calgary. Blue Fin Tasha Truscott swam to gold (200m butterfly), silver (100m butterfly) and bronze (200m freestyle) medal finishes and had three other top-10 results in her 12-and-under age group. Marc Laforet set personal bests in all six of his events, earning silver in the 200m freestyle and finishing no worse than eighth. Racing in the 10-and-under girls' category, Loren O'Brien turned in a best-ever time in the 100m butterfly and got a taste of the hotly contested 400m freestyle, placing 30th. Billy Pavlopoulos of the Blue Fins posted top-20 swims in his 50m free, 100m free, 100m breaststroke and 200m breaststroke to join Truscott and Laforet as having achieved national qualifying times. Minor Midget AE Raiders After a heartbreaking loss to Hespeler in the Tri-County playdowns, Georgetown's Family Optical Raiders rebounded to beat Guelph 10 on a late David Carscadden marker.
