Cook sharp, but squad falters After posting a 5-0 record in the preliminary round, Will Cook and the Central Ontario team were beaten 2-1 by Cambridge's Inter County in the semi-finals at last weekend's Ontario Summer Games boys' baseball tournament in Ottawa, having to settle for bronze medals. Cook, a 15-year-old pitcher and first baseman for the Georgetown Major Bantam AAA Eagles, started Central Ontario's second game, a 5-3 victory over Niagara District. The 6-foot-4 righthander also hit .417 during the tourney with five RBI and three runs scored. Central Ontario ended up beating York-Simcoe 20-4 in the bronze-medal contest. Inter County's win in the semifinals came thanks to a two-run throwing error. Kingsville's Sun Parlour beat Inter County 19-9 for the gold medal.
