Happy Birthday Happy Birthday Bands to battle on Saturday Pine Cone Music is holding its third annual Battle of the Bands coming up on Saturday, Sept. 23 in the parking lot in front of the music store. It will feature "up and coming" local artists featuring their talents to compete for this years top band title. The show begins at noon and the bands performing are set to hit the stage and will perform a variety of music continuing throughout the afternoon. The stage will have a full setup complete with a professional sound system and sound engineer, microphones, amplifiers, drums, guitars and best of all great local musical talent. First prize will include studio time in Orchard studios operated by Dave Ferri. In addition there will be individual prizes awarded by an appointed judge's panel for the best musician in instrument categories. With a lineup of eleven bands currently registered to the competition, a generous mix of modern young artists will boast various styles of music and song arrangements. The event is limited to register only to band members that are19 years and younger. Each band will be allowed to perform three songs and have the option to perform cover songs of their favorite artists or bring their own crafted original material to the competition. A silent auction will take place throughout the afternoon including various musical instruments and music related items up for bid.
