Trash collection dates altered During the holiday season there will be changes to waste collection services. For the weeks of December 25 and January 1, collection will take place the day after residents' regular collection day. There will be collection services on Boxing Day, December 26. Collection times may vary due to high volumes of waste material and poor weather conditions. Residents are asked to please place their waste at the curb by 7 a.m. on their scheduled collection day. Christmas trees will be collected in the urban areas beginning the week of January 8. Driver facing impaired charge A Georgetown man is facing charges after police responded to the Mountainview Rd. and Guelph St. area at approximately 8:20 p.m. last Wednesday. Police say a hole was made underneath the driver's side door handle in an attempt to gain entry. ··· Sometime between Sunday and Tuesday a $600 Sony navigation system was stolen from a 2006 Ford 150 pickup truck parked at a Gollop Cr., Georgetown home. The driver's side door handle was damaged to gain entry.
