Photo by Eamonn Maher Rebels rally for last-minute win EAMONN MAHER Staff Writer There's nothing like a little friendly individual rivalry to add to the mix when the only two undefeated teams in the Halton high school senior boys' basketball league's North Division clashed at Georgetown last week. The host Rebels and Bishop Reding Royals both went into Wednesday's final regular-season contest before the holiday break with 5-0 records and a healthy holiday crowd wasn't left disappointed, with the teams trading leads down until the final minute of the fourth quarter. Georgetown's standout point guard/forward Dalton Olinoski ended up outduelling his Bishop Reding counterpart, Ontario team member Al Alilovic, hitting two last-minute three-pointers to boost his side to a 49-46 victory. Olinoski, who finished up with 31 points, plays on the same club team, the Milton Mad Dogs, as Alilovic and the pair had exchanged holiday greetings after the hardfought contest. "I'd love to play them again," said the 17-year-old Olinoski, who has received interest from universities such as York, Queen's and Western Ontario for next year. "It's a really good matchup and it's fun playing against Al. Down 44-41 with 1:17 remaining in the game, the Rebels, who hadn't recorded a three-pointer up to that stage, got the ball to Olinoski in the corner and he calmly hit a "UCLA" from there.
