14 Independent & Free Press, Wednesday, March 14, 2007 ENTERTAINMENT Choral Society gives us Taste of Ireland Saturday JENNIFER VANDERDRIFT Georgetown Choral Society The Georgetown Choral Society will be hosting A Taste of Ireland, an evening cabaret this Saturday, March 17 at 8 p.m. at Holy Cross Church Hall in Georgetown. They will be joined by two other performing groups-- the Ault Sisters and the McGinley Academy dancers. The Ault Sisters are an exciting new vocal trio from Mississauga and dancers from the McGinley Academy of Irish Dance. Amanda, Alicia and Alanna are classically trained and accomplished soloists, and when combined, their voices soar in exquisite harmony. They have performed in such venues as the Mississauga Living Arts Centre's Hammerson Hall and RBC Theatres, the CNE Bandshell, and Theatre Aquarius. The girls currently study voice with singing teacher Linda Fletcher of Oakville and vocal coaches A. Dale Wood of Georgetown, Tom Oliver of Hamilton, and Jennifer Tung of Mississauga. The McGinley Academy brings 10 members of the school, aged from 6-20 years old, and they will be performing traditional Irish dance throughout the evening. Several students are currently studying to attend the World Championships of Irish Dancing to be held in Glasgow, Scotland this April. Funds from the concert will go to the cost of the group's upcoming trip to Ireland in May where they will be performing their spring concert, Spirit of Song. Local audiences will have an opportunity to hear the spring concert on May 11 and 12 at the Georgetown Christian Reformed Church, Trafalgar Rd. Tickets will be available at the Cabaret, The Freckled Lion Children's Bookstore, Main St, Georgetown and Bergsma's Paint & Wallpaper, Georgetown Market Place. Limited tickets are still available for the cabaret concert. Dinner (roast beef or chicken) will be served at 7 p.m. Tickets are $40. There will be a cash bar. Professional actors will start their skits sometime between 6:30-7 p.m. One of them will `die' and it is up to the audience to figure out whodunit.
