Man brandishes box cutter in robbery of 7-Eleven Halton Police are investigating a robbery at 7Eleven on Mountainview Rd. S. early last Friday. Shortly before 1 a.m. the clerk was in the back of the store and came out when he heard the front door open. He found a man behind the counter armed with a box cutter who demanded the clerk open the till. He did, and the suspect took cash and approximately eight packages of cigarettes then walked out the front door. He was last seen walking northbound on Mountainview Rd. He is described as white, 18 to 20 years old, with a medium build, 5'9", 160 lbs. He was wearing baggy black pants, a light brown jacket possibly worn inside out, a black hooded sweater covering his head and a large green bandana over the lower portion of his face. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 905-878-5511 or Crime Stoppers at 1800-222-TIPS. Jump Start gets boost In a recent Jump Start fundraising raffle, the prize winners dropped by the Georgetown Canadian Tire store to pick up their prizes. Winners included Gabrielle Dudek (who won a 27-inch television) Jump Start committee member Susan Tupling, Lorie Manley (winner of a telephone system) and Liz Hardstaff (who won a barbecue).
