The transition from silents to talkies in the late 1920s made stars of nobodies and wrecked the careers of more than one squeaky-voiced silent star. In this stage adaption of the stellar 1952 MGM musical, matinee idol Don Lockwood suffers growing pains as he struggles to reinvent himself-- and his uncouth costar-- for the talking picture. This movie classic has been faithfully adapted by Broadway legends Betty Comden and Adolph Green from their original award-winning screenplay, featuring such well-loved songs as Good Morning, Make `Em Laugh and of course, Singin' in the Rain. An information night has been set for June 1, 7:30 p.m. at the St. John's Parish Hall, Winston Churchill Blvd, in Norval. Auditions are June 8 and 9, callbacks on June 16.
