18 Independent & Free Press, Wednesday, May 23, 2007 Songwriters to perform at Source of the Song 9 Source of the Song 9 will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2-5 p.m. in Glen Williams Town Hall. There's no experience quite as rewarding and powerful as hearing a great original song performed by the person who wrote it. Bruce and Marlene Madole, as hosts and coproducers of Source of the Song 9-- an acoustic songwriter's concert or "round"-- have good reason to believe this truth will be demonstrated again when they will welcome special guests Cindy Church, Victoria Banks and Kirsten Jones. In addition to a distinguished solo career, Church is a member of the vocal super-group Quartette (with Gwen Swick, Caitlin Hanford and Sylvia Tyson), performing as well in Lunch at Allen's (with Marc Jordan, Ian Thomas, and Murray McLaughlin) and The Nearness of You: A Tribute to the Songs of Hoagy Carmichael (together with pianist Joe Sealy and bassist George Koller). Banks, an acoustic guitarist, is an award-winning and hit songwriter (Saints and Angels for Sara Evans, Arizona Rain for 3 of Hearts). She is the winner of both the 2006 USA Songwriting competition and the Unisong competition. Jones is an alt-country/folk artist whose reputation has been steadily growing since she moved to Toronto. Tickets for the event are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. They are available at Studio 7, the Williams Mill Visual Arts Centre, 515 Main S. in Glen Williams or from Best's Harbour, 523 Main St. For more information, contact: Bruce Madole, 905-459-9753 or at brucemadole@sympatico.ca 38 OAK STREET GEORGETOWN ONTARIO Please support this event & this brave little boy from our community. 82 Main Street North, Georgetown, Ontario L7G 3H3 905-873-6127 Tino Scanferla Mayor Rick Bonnette and Members of Council Rampulla's Martial Arts 211 Armstrong Ave., Georgetown APPLE We handle all insurance work.
