Submitted photo Peewee Eagles cruise to tourney title Johnny Palumbo and Adam Hoover each had two hits, driving home two runs apiece as the Georgetown Eagles beat Waterloo 7-1 to win the Mississauga Southwest peewee tournament. Georgetown sailed through the 16-team tourney with a 5-0 record. Brad Bedford started, pitching three scoreless innings for the win. Tom Byckowski pitched the next three innings and Luke Sinclair recorded the final three outs. Kyle Hann pitched six innings and fanned 11 in a 7-1 semifinal win over West Toronto. It was 2-1 until the sixth when Hann belted a three-run homer. Palumbo had a hit and knocked in two runs, while Scott Garvie added a hit. Lefty Adam Anderson threw four scoreless innings-- striking out 10-- to beat the Vaughan Vikings 14-0 as Georgetown won its pool. Byckowski had a pair of hits, driving in two runs, as Anthony Marra had two hits. Anderson hit an inside-the-park homer and knocked in five runs in a 22-7 win against East York. Sinclair also homered. Garvie had three hits, as Mark Jankowski had a pair and drove in one. Kaleb Leff was 3-for-3, while Michael Courvoisier singled to drive in a pair of runs. Palumbo was 2-for-2 and picked up the win. Byckowski pitched five innings in the opener, an 11-2 win against Hamilton. Palumbo was 3-for-3 with an RBI, while Garvie had a hit and drove in two runs. Anderson homered and tossed three innings, striking out six batters in league play as the Eagles downed North Mississauga 6-2. Marra was the winning pitcher after three solid innings, boosted by Sinclair's three-run homer in the third. Hoover picked up the W for the Eagles in a 14-4 win over host Burlington II.
