Attending the opening ceremonies during the Canada Day ceremonies were Rotarians Bob MacKinnon, Brian Robertson, Bev Green, Mayor Rick Bonnette, Wellington-Waterloo MPP Ted Arnott, Rotary District Governor Dave Patterson, Rotarians Ed Lawson and Herb Dodds, and Wellington-Halton Hills MP Mike Chong. Rotarian Bill Beaton gave a brief background on the Acton Rotary Club's mission to build a bandshell and shows the board that will be mounted on the side of the band shell. Bev Boisvenue sang Oh Canada to kick off the day. Five-year-old Brandon Kri shows off his Canadian spirit. In Glen Williams Sheridan Nurseries was named Glen Willliams Citizen of the Year during the Canada Day in the Glen celebrations on Sunday. The day, and the award, is presented by the Glen Williams Town Hall Board. GWTHB president Mark Rowe (left) presents the award to Sheridan president William Stensson. The free day included games, parade, concert and lots of fun and national and local pride. Melanie and Dante Cugliari show off their patriotism.
