Photo by Ted Brown Retiree wins $50,000 Two hurt in Trafalgar Rd. crash Georgina Busuttil of Georgetown had a sense of relief when she discovered that she won $50,000 on her ONTARIO 49 ticket. "I've worked all my life, this is a nice win, and I still can't believe it," Busuttil told OLG Prize Centre staff when she collected her winnings. It was the second GEORGINA prize from the June 27 BUSUTTIL draw. Busuttil, 63, is a retired supervisor from A.W. Dicks Graphics in Georgetown. She is single with no children. With her windfall, Busuttil plans to do some home renovations, maybe take a vacation and share with family. The winning ONTARIO 49 ticket was purchased at Delrex Variety on Guelph St. in Georgetown. A 21-year-old Georgetown man remains in critical condition in Sunnybrook Hospital as a result of a multi-vehicle collision on Trafalgar Rd. Wednesday morning. Police did not release the name of the man at the request of his family. The accident, which occurred shortly after 7 a.m., was the second serious crash in Halton Hills in two days. On Tuesday morning David Forrester, 44, of Georgetown was killed in a head-on collision on Ninth Line. Police said he was attempting to pass a vehicle and collided with a southbound tractor-trailer (See story page 3). Police say preliminary investigation revealed Wednesday's accident occurred when a northbound Nissan driven by the 21-year-old, crossed into the southbound lane while attempting to pass another vehicle. A tractor-trailer traveling southbound moved onto the shoulder to avoid a collision with the car. However, the car made contact with the tractor-trailer, causing the car to go out of control and collide head-on with a southbound pickup truck. The driver of the pickup truck was taken to Georgetown Hospital with nonlife threatening injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured. Trafalgar Rd. between 10 and 15 Sideroad was closed for several hours. Halton Police are still investigating the accident and ask anyone with information to contact Detective Const. Steve Long at 905-878-5511 ext. 2354 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS. WEDNESDAY... Halton Hills Public Library is expanding its Georgetown branch. Read about its plans in Wednesday's edition.
