Championship-- Brampton Inferno 2, Peewee Wildcats will host Sunday playoff contest The Halton Hills Wildcats secured a home playoff game with a 47-22 win over the visiting Toronto Jr. Argo Whites last Sunday at Christ the King High School. With the win, the Wildcats clinched third place in the Ontario Minor Football League's peewee division. The game followed the trend of the earlier meeting between these two clubs, with the Wildcats spotting the Argos an early 7-0 lead before finally waking up. Richard Akiki lunged into the endzone from the one-yard line to knot the game at 7-7. After the Argos took a 14-7 lead, the Wildcat offence finally exploded. Quarterback Eric Cowan hit Mitch Racinsky for a 60-yard catch and run play to tie the ball game. After recovering an onside kick, Cowan worked his magic again, this time hitting Ben Millar on a 40-yard major score. Racinsky would add another TD before halftime to give the Cats a 26-14 lead. Dylan Hannan, Brandon Stoker, and Zack Seabourne added second half majors for the WildCats. Defensively, David Tomlinson, Thomas Potruff and Scott Green were solid all day in coverage, while Racinsky added to his solid performance with two sacks. Halton Hills will host the winner of the sixth-versus-seventh-place game this Sunday at Christ the King. Kick-off is set for noon. Georgetown's Meaghan Hector (red, forefront) had her point-blank shot stopped by the Saltfleet goalkeeper, but Eagles' teammate Courtney Maud tapped in the rebound (pictured top right of page) in their under-8 division match at last weekend's GSC tournament.
