Last year, Halton Hills council hired a food service consultant for $15,000 to recommend improvements to its concessions at the SportsPlex and at the Acton Arena & Community Centre. The review suggested no extensive renovations were required at the Acton Arena, but several were needed at the SportsPlex. Originally improvements were planned during the construction of the SportsPlex, but were dropped due to financial constraints. Recommended work includes: · removal of existing millwork and replacement · repaint concession · replace counters with corian countertops · install new adjustable storage units under counters · relocate and upgrade electrical service · relocate concession equipment layout to improve operating efficiency · replace existing front window with frosted glass · remove existing wall tile and replace with porcelain tile · replace panel below fryers with stainless steel · install glass tile on back wall of concession · repaint front security screen · replace menu boards.
