Photo by Ted Brown Funds will go towards buying medical equipment Month left to win a Toyota Yaris Thanks to a donation of a 2007 Toyota Yaris from Georgetown Toyota, Georgetown Hospital could receive up to about $40,000 for much-needed medical equipment. All the money raised through ticket sales for the draw for the Yaris, valued at more than $21,000, will go directly to the hospital. K.C. Carruthers, executive director of The Georgetown Hospital Foundation, said about 80 per cent of the 5,000 tickets are already sold, and with a month to go, he hopes they will be able to sell out. The money raised will go toward purchasing two much-needed new anaesthetic gas machines for the hospital's operating rooms. Carruthers said Kevin Wood of Georgetown Toyota approached the hospital foundation with the idea to donate the car to give something back to the community in recognition of the dealership's 10th anniversary. Tickets are $10 each, five for $40 and 10 for $70 and can be purchased until midnight Sept. 15. The draw will be held at the Acton Fall Fair Sept. 16. Tickets are available through the Georgetown Hospital Foundation (905-8734599), any of the Foundation's board of directors, Georgetown Toyota, Scotiabank in Acton and Georgetown, and the Lotto booth in Georgetown Market Place.
