In 2002, a comprehensive master servicing strategy (Halton Water and Wastewater Master Plan Review, 2002) was prepared to address the Regions water and wastewater servicing needs within the 2016 planning horizon. This update will review the recommendations from the previous study in the context of the current regulatory environment and planning estimates; provide alternatives to revise and update the plan; and identify a preliminary preferred servicing strategy for consideration and comment. The South Halton study area (refer to map) includes the urban areas of Burlington, Oakville and Milton as well as the Halton Hills 401 Corridor. The Process The study is being conducted in accordance with the requirements for master plans under Section 4, Approach #2 of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) (Municipal Engineers Association, 2000), which is an approved process under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act. It will also present the preliminary preferred servicing strategy (subject to public comment and agency review), associated impacts and proposed mitigation measures. Representatives from Halton Region and its consultants will be present at the PIC to answer questions and discuss the next steps in the study. The PIC is scheduled for: Date: Wednesday September 19, 2007 Time: 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm Location: Halton Regional Administrative Building, Auditorium 1151 Bronte Road, Oakville You are encouraged to attend the PIC and provide your comments so that they may be included in R F C ? This is the second story of the series. The Yellow Building, one of three his- toric buildings that house the visual arts studios at The Williams Mill, is home to a number of studios including those of five painters. Candace Slack is a photographer, painter and a biker. Recently she com- bined the three loves to produce a series of paintings based on her photos of motorcycles and riders. Each photo/paint- ing tells a story. For Tiny Treasures, she will introduce a new genre of mixed media abstracts focusing on motorcycles. Margaret Peter is an award-winning career artist and printmaker. She has lots of fun with art and loves mixed media that combine colour and texture. The Government of Ontario Art Collection now includes her work titled Mystical Images of Petroglyphs near Peterborough. Sheri Tenaglia is collaborating with two artists at the Mill to create a large, four panel mixed media art project for the head office of PowerStream, a power company jointly owned by City of Vaughan and the Town of Markham. Tenaglia will readjust scale for Tiny Treasures and produce mixed media tex- tural abstracts based on the themes of water, nature, and earth. Jo Walterson, a driving force behind the Tiny Treasures event, is a painter and printmaker in oil that includes land- scapes, flowers and gardens of the Georgian Bay area. Walter Gulezko creates in his studio on the lower level of the building. Tiny Treasures opens November 16 and runs until Christmas. The Williams Mill Gallery is open Wednesday through Sunday, noon to 5 p.m. Studios open: Fridays and Saturdays, noon to 5 p.m. For more information: 905-873-8202, www.williamsmill.com.
