Please put your Blue Boxes and garbage at the curb securely: On windy days, put your waste at the curb by 7 a.m. the morning of your collection day, and not the night before. Put your address on your Blue Box, garbage can and garbage lid. Stack your Blue Boxes and place heavier items such as phone books and magazines on top of loose papers. Bundle and tie papers. Fill boxboard boxes with other boxboard material. Flatten and tie large cardboard boxes and place securely underneath or between your Blue Boxes. Put garbage bags at the curb instead of garbage cans; garbage cans are more likely to blow around. k ? " M L h R ? M T C P ? J J ? J S C ? M V C Q ? ? ' D ? W M S ? L C C B ? ? B B G R G M L ? J ? The five-course gourmet meal is sure to please every guest, most of whom will never have experienced the food, camaraderie and entertainment of this traditional candlelit feast. Included in the meal will be smoked salmon, tender roast beef, wine, and a Tipsy Laird dessert laced with Drambuie. You can also sample the unusual flavours of cock-a-leekie soup, chappit tatties (potatoes) and bashed neeps (turnips), after the haggis makes its dra- matic entry behind a bag piper. Its the perfect thing to do on a dark night in January, say organizers Drew and Bett Leverette. Well be celebrating the great Scottish poet with people all around the world on this one special night. The event will help raise funds for the churchs exciting new pro- grams and worship technology, all aimed at attracting more young families. Last year tick- ets sold quickly. Delighted guests enjoyed the ambience of a room lit by candles and decorat- ed in the manner of a great hall in Scotland. The $50 ticket price includes wines, enter- tainment and the five course sit-down dinner. Guests also receive a charitable tax receipt for $25. Gather your friends, wear a bit of plaid, or simply come as you are. Everyone is wel- come. You can buy tickets any weekday morning in January at the church office, 11 Guelph Street in Georgetown. For information you can call the church at 905-877-2531, write to office@stjohnsuc.ca or visit www.stjohnsuc.ca. You can also call Bett, 905-877-7615 to obtain tickets.
