Family Literacy is about the ways families use literacy and language in their daily lives. It is how families use literacy to do everyday tasks, help children develop literacy, use litera- cy to maintain relationships with each other and with the community. Remember the fami- ly is the childs first teacher. Are you a childs first teacher? Do you need help with your basic literacy skills? We can help. Literacy North Halton offers free adult learning with the following programs: Read*Spell*Program basic literacy skills in reading, writing, math and computers. Successful students may be eligible to continue their academic upgrading by applying for the Sheridan ACE Program. Academic Upgrading (ACE) Program in English and Math in order to qualify for admission to college or obtain your Grade 12 equivalency. Volunteer tutors are needed for our Read*Spell*Write Program.
