With the Halton Hills community behind Mayor Bonnettes Bowl for Kids Sake Invitational Challenge, the goal is to raise $10,000 for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Halton (BBBSH) school-based programs in Halton Hills. Recently BBBSH, in partnership with the Halton District School Board and the Halton Catholic District School Education, opened two new After-School Club tutoring programs in Acton in the McKenzie-Smith Bennett and St. Joseph schools and two new Go Girls! programs in Georgetown in the Stewarttown and St. Brigid elementary schools. Two more Club tutoring programs will open in Georgetown schools next September. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Halton receives no on-going government fund- ing so it is campaigns like Bowl for Kids Sake that ensures the agency can contin- ue to reach out to those children most in need of a mentor.
