Police in Guelph were notified by police from Waterloo Region just after 5 p.m. that a stolen car was travelling on Highway 7 into Guelph. The car was originally stolen from a Georgetown parking lot two hours earlier. A private tracking service notified police of the cars movements. Police arrested the driver without incident in a parking lot on Woodlawn Rd. Charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000 is Kirstin McKnight, 31, of Georgetown. She is to appear in court in April. The $45,000 vehicle was not damaged dur- ing the theft, police reported. A $36,000 2004 BMW 545 was stolen from a garage at a Milfoil St. Georgetown home early Monday morning, Halton Police report. Police are urging area residents to lock their vehicles after seven vehicles were entered in the northwest area of Georgetown between Friday and Sunday. Taken was change, wallets, identif ication and cell phones. The vehicles were on Berton Blvd, Grey Owl Run, Hillside Dr., Casa Court and Atwood Ave. By locking the vehicle it lessens the opportunity for thieves to steal items, said Det. Sgt. Murray Drinkwalter. People just go up and down streets and start pulling on door handles. Police blotter Tracking device helps police arrest driver of stolen BMW They created a mock website that announced the U.S. was invading Canada to acquire its natural resources and in another segment Pesce acted as a dubious bearded Grade 1 teacher who insisted that two plus two didnt equal four. We originally planned out what we want- ed to do and just sort of played along with it from there, noted Pesce. There were, however, some changes to the script and the participants were introduced to the tedious editing process, which was likely the most time-consuming aspect of the video. We wanted to do a puppet show too but there just wasnt enough time, Tuin said. The talented quartet from Silver Creek agreed that theyll probably take on another contest challenge together if one comes up. If theres a million-dollar prize, well def- initely do it, Martin promised. The students winning video can be viewed at http://videocontest.worldbook.com.
